| The 2003 M5 is a 4-door, 5-passenger luxury sports sedan, available in one trim only, the sedan. The 2003 M5's closest competitors include the Acura 3.5 RL, the Jaguar XJ Series, and the Volvo S80. Upon introduction, the M5 is equipped with a standard 5.0-liter, V8, 394-horsepower engine that achieves 13-mpg in the city and 21-mpg on the highway.
